We all know that snowmobiling is an important part of Maine’s tourism industry and outdoor recreation economy. We also know that wind power projects in Maine are supporting snowmobilers and snowmobile clubs with improved access, and the opportunities to create new trails, including the proposed Ride The Wind Trail. But we need your help to make these goals a reality!
On April 30 and May 1, the Maine DEP will be holding public hearings about First Wind’s Bowers Mountain project, and your voice is needed!
The hearings will be held at Lee Academy in Lee, Maine. The hearings will begin at 6 p.m.
Please join your fellow RIDE THE WIND supporters for a BBQ at the Quad County Snowmobile Club on Main Street in Springfield (just down the road from Lee Academy), beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Maine’s outdoor economy is diverse; and no one group should represent everyone who enjoys the outdoors. Snowmobilers and ATV riders should also be heard.
To learn more about the Bowers Wind project and how it will sustain local communities and tourism, please see the attached fact sheet: .Bowers Profile
For more information about the public hearing, or to RSVP for our BBQ event please contact Randy Seaver at randy.seaver@powereng.com or by phone at (207)409-0366.
Thank you for your continuing support!
